Webinar: Justice Indu Malhotra, Senior Advocate Shyam Divan to speak on Evolution of Arbitration in India

The National Law University of Odisha and the Confederation of Alumni for National Law Universities (CAN Foundation) are hosting a webinar on the “Evolution of Arbitration in India,”

The Webinar will be conducted on June 20 at 4.30 pm.

Supreme Court judge, Justice Indu Malhotra will deliver the key note speech.

Justice Malhotra will be speaking on the following themes:

• Development of arbitration jurisprudence.

• Pre-1996 era.

• The 1996 Arbitration Act.

• The 2015 Amendment to the 1996 Act.

• The 2019 Amendment to the 1996 Act.

Senior Advocate Shyam Divan will also be speaking during the event. He will touch upon the following themes:

• His experience as counsel in domestic arbitrations and international commercial arbitrations.

• The rising importance of commercial arbitrations in India.

• Changing and evolving attitude and approach of Indian courts to arbitration and awards.

• Building an Arbitration Bar and institutional arbitration
