National Law University Odisha (NLUO), in collaboration with AZB & Partners, has launched a single credit course titled 'The Lifecycle of Arbitration: Strategy, Procedure and Enforcement in Commercial Disputes.'
This course is designed to provide students with a practice-oriented understanding of the lifecycle of arbitration in commercial disputes under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
It will explore why arbitration is a preferred mode of dispute resolution in commercial and corporate contexts, while also equipping participants with foundational knowledge on drafting enforceable arbitration agreements, pre-dispute strategic considerations, and key procedural aspects involved in invoking and commencing arbitration proceedings.
The course will further aim to develop analytical skills required to navigate complex arbitration scenarios, including handling disputes, managing evidence and hearings, and addressing post-award challenges under Sections 34 and 37 of the Act.
It will also focus on the enforcement of arbitral awards and asset recovery, enabling students to gain insight into the practical realities of arbitration practice.
