About The Course

The proliferation of technology has brought about a new realm of criminal activity i.e. cybercrime. This encompasses a wide range of illegal acts conducted through digital means, including hacking, phishing, identity theft, and cyberstalking, among others. As the complexity and frequency of these crimes increase, so does the necessity for robust measures to combat them. This is where cyber forensics comes into play, providing the tools and techniques needed to investigate, analyze, and present digital evidence in a legal context.

The Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (Indian Evidence Act) plays a crucial role in the legal framework governing electronic evidence in India. Understanding how electronic evidence is collected, preserved, and presented in courts is essential for law enforcement, legal practitioners, and forensic experts. This course, “Cyber Crime and Cyber Forensics through the Lens of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam,” aims to provide a comprehensive overview of cybercrime and the forensic processes involved in addressing these challenges within the Indian legal context.
