Project 39A enters MoU with Indian Police Foundation and UP State Institute of Forensic Science

Project 39A at the National Law University Delhi (NLUD), in collaboration with the Indian Police Foundation (IPF), recently hosted a seminar on "Disclosure and the Right to Fair Trial: An Expert Dialogue" on September 5.

The seminar brought together defence counsel, police officials, prosecutors, judges, forensic experts and academicians to facilitate dialogue on the issue of disclosure of evidence vis-à-vis the Constitutional right to a fair trial, the existing gaps within the system and possible avenues of reform.

Project 39A also entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Police Foundation (IPF)  and the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS) on the same date.

Both partnerships are built on a shared, pro-bono commitment to research, capacity-building, professional training and policy engagement, bringing together the worlds of law and forensic science, in furtherance of the constitutional vision embodied in Article 39A.

According to a press release, the collaboration will pave the way for joint research and publications, certificate programmes and specialised training courses and academic exchange between the two institutions.
