Noida International University (NIU), Greater Noida is gearing up to organize its Third National Moot Court Competition, 2022.

Noida International University (NIU) was established in the year 2010, is a UGC recognized Private University sponsored by Maruti Educational Trust. NIU has been awarded by Achiever’s Award in Higher education by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Best upcoming Private University by ASSOCHAM education summit in the years 2015, 2016 and 2018. The University accommodates student from 23 Countries has structured its various Academic disciplines in eleven specially designed and skillfully empowered schools, namely Engineering & Science, Social Sciences, Nursing, Business Management, Architecture, Law, Liberal Arts, Fine Arts and Education.

The University is equipped with state of the art infrastructure, laboratories and qualified professionals with a strong grip on field of their expertise. NIU is all set to mark its lead in the education scenario in India as well as abroad in the most exemplary manner.

About Competition

The Competition seeks to promote interest in the area of Law concerning the socio-religious aspects of the society. To rekindle the student’s interest in ever expanding fields of Law. The competition will indeed be an ideal and dynamic platform to bring together some of most creative and astute young minds and will witness their mastery on advocacy and research to be adjudged by experts in the field of Law.

Format of Memorials

Memorial Submission shall consist of the following mandatory heads in the order stated below:

1. Cover Page

2. Table of Contents

3. List of Abbreviations (in Alphabetical order)

4. Index of Authorities (with page number of authorities cited):

5. Statement of Jurisdiction.

6. Statement of Facts (not exceeding 2 pages):

7. Statement of Issues

8. Summary of Arguments (not exceeding 2 pages):

9. Arguments Advanced (not exceeding 25 pages)

10. Prayer (not exceeding 1 page)

The Cover Page of a Written Submission must contain the following information:

a) The Team Code in the upper right-hand corner.

b) The name and place of the jurisdiction

c) The Relevant Provision under which case is filed

d) Name of Parties and Status

e) The side for which the Written Submission has been prepared

f) Memorial Filed on Behalf of __

Font Size

1. Font: The font of the body of the memorial shall be Times New Roman, size 12 and 1.5 line spacing.

2. Font: The font of the foot notes shall be Times New Roman, size 10 and 1.0 line spacing.

3. Memorials must be suitably bound.

4. Memorials must have one inch margin on all sides of each page.

5. Page numbering should be at the bottom middle of each page.

6. The teams have to use the citation method as stated in the 20th Edition of the Harvard Blue Book for citation throughout the memorial, with strict adherence.

Note

1. Memorial must not contain any Photograph, sketches, schedules, graphs and maps.

2. Identity of the institution shall not be revealed anywhere in the memorial. Violation of this provision shall result in penalties including disqualification. The Administrator’s decision shall be final.

1. Release of Moot Problem, Invitation, Rules and Opening of Registration - 17 February 2022.

2. Last Date for seeking clarification - 8 April 2022.

3. Release of Clarification - 12 April 2022.

4. Last Date for registration along with uploading and submission (via-e-mail) of scanned copy of Authority Letter, Travel Plan and Hospitality Request letter - 1 June 2022.

5. Last Date for Submission of Memorial in Soft Copy - 20 June 2022.

6. Last date of the approval of teams by Moot Society NIU - 6 June 2022.

7. Memorial Submission in Hard Copy and Desk Registration - 28 July 2022.

8. Event (Moot Court Competition) - 28 - 30 of July, 2022.
