IIULER student Advika Gupta wins 5 gold medals at Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships in Canada

Advika won the medals in the women’s sub-junior category in the under-63 kg weight class.

Advika Gupta, a second-year B.A. LL.B. student at the India International University of Legal Education and Research (IIULER), Goa, has won 5 gold medals at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships held in Canada.

Advika won the medals in the women’s sub-junior category in the under-63 kg weight class. She won the Overall, Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift and Single-Lift Bench Press categories. She was also awarded the Best Lifter title in Bench Press.

In a press release, IIULER Vice-Chancellor (VC) R Ventaka Rao said that Advika competing at such a prestigious international championship while pursuing her academic responsibilities is a remarkable accomplishment.

“Her success is a proud moment for her family, the institution and the nation. Excelling across multiple events demonstrates a high level of preparation, determination and sporting spirit. IIULER is proud to have supported her with the encouragement and opportunities necessary to excel both academically and beyond the classroom,” Dr. Rao added.

The 2026 Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships were held in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, from September 17 to 27, 2026.
