SLS Noida wins 20th Prof SP Sathe National Moot

The moot proposition's theme was the horizontal enforcement of fundamental rights.

The team from Symbiosis Law School Noida (SLS Noida) has won the 20th Prof SP Sathe National Moot Court Competition, 2026 held from January 22-24, 2026 at ILS Law College, Pune.

The winning team comprised Daksh Kumar Yadav, Amirul Ansari and Anshika Goel.

Ansari won the Best Student Counsel award. Yadav won the Best Speaker in final rounds award. The team has also won Best Memorial for petitioner and respondents.

The runners-up team from University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh comprised Riyansh Gupta, Keshav Sharma and Skand Vats.

Sudhanshu Gupta from ILS Law College, Pune won the Best Researcher award.

Madhur Tiwari, Prakhar Pandey and Sudhanshu Gupta won the Justice VA Naik prize for Best Team from Maharashtra.

The moot proposition for the Prof. SP Sathe National Moot Court Competition, 2026 dealt with the issue of housing discrimination based on religion and sexual orientation in private co-operative housing societies. The theme of the proposition was the horizontal enforcement of fundamental rights.
