The Central Government on Thursday notified the appointment of Ajay Sharma, a judicial member of the Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) in Mumbai, as an additional judge of the Bombay High Court.

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced the same via post on his X handle.

The appointment has been made for a period of two years.

The appointment follows the Supreme Court Collegium’s recommendation dated October 26, which had approved the proposal for the appointment of Ajay Sharma and advocate Vaibhav Anant Sugdare as judges of the Bombay High Court.

While Justice Sharma has been cleared, Justice Sugdare's name has not been notified.
