Prof Nigam Nuggehalli takes charge as NLSIU Registrar

He previously was a Visiting Professor at NLSIU and also taught as an Associate Professor at the School of Policy and Governance, Azim Premji University (APU).

Former Dean at the School of Law, BML Munjal University, Prof Nigam Nuggehalli took charge as Registrar of National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore this month.

He previously was a Visiting Professor at NLSIU and also taught as an Associate Professor at the School of Policy and Governance, Azim Premji University (APU).

During his time at APU, he headed the University’s LL.M programme.

He was also a Principal Lecturer teaching tax law and commercial law at BPP Law School, London. He holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford Faculty of Law, an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University and a BA.LLB (Hons.) from NLSIU.

His predecessor, Prof OV Nandimath resigned in 2019 in the face of the controversy over the delayed appointment of Prof Sudhir Krishnaswamy as Vice-Chancellor. Post this development, Prof Sarasu Esther Thomas was appointed to perform the duties of Registrar.
