Jeremy Kosky has joined WilmerHale as the first ever Head of Disputes in London. Charlie Lightfoot has also joined WilmerHale's international arbitration practice from Cooley.

Kosky exits Clifford Chance after spending three and a half decades at the Firm.

He specialises in cross-border, high-stakes disputes and crisis advisory for private capital sponsors, corporate boards, principals and family offices.

He is an accredited mediator with the CMC in the UK and has been appointed by ADGM to its pro bono mediator panel and the DIFC Courts Panel of Mediators.

He has over three decades of experience in high-stakes international commercial litigation, with cases taken to trial in England, France, Italy, and Luxembourg, as well as Bermuda, BVI, the Cayman Islands, and the Channel Islands.

Kosky is an alumnus of Manchester University and holds in LLM in Advanced Litigation from Nottingham Law School.

On Kosky's joining, Anjan Sahni, Managing Partner at WilmerHale, commented,

“Jeremy is an exceptional litigator who brings deep experience handling the very kind of matters our clients need us for: complex, high-stakes disputes that span markets and jurisdictions. London is a critical part of WilmerHale’s global platform, and we are investing with conviction in its future. Jeremy’s arrival reflects our commitment to give clients in the UK and across Europe the depth of trial and disputes capability they have come to expect from WilmerHale.”

Kosky himself shared,

“When it comes to handling matters of the highest legal and commercial consequence, WilmerHale’s reputation is second to none. The opportunity to head the firm’s Disputes Practice in London, while drawing on the exceptional capabilities it already has in the UK, Europe and globally, is a compelling one. I look forward to continuing to build the practice, adding other skilled practitioners, and working with colleagues from across the firm to advise clients on their most significant disputes and business-critical challenges.”

Earlier this year, Gary Born had exited WilmerHale after four decades at the firm. He was accompanied by a team consisting of Partners Steven Finizio, Jonathan Lim, Rachael Kent, Danielle Morris, Franz Schwarz and Marleen Krueger.
