IC RegFin Legal has announced the opening of its larger, state-of-the-art new office in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City.

RegFin Legal was the first law firm to receive authorisation from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (“IFSCA”) in early 2021 to operate from GIFT City as an ancillary service provider.

Located within the IFSCA Headquarters Building, the new office is designed to accommodate a team of up to 50 professionals. The significantly larger space provides a strong base for the Firm’s growing GIFT City practice and its expanding work with funds, financial institutions and other businesses and participants across the IFSC ecosystem.

Speaking on the development, Tejesh Chitlangi, Managing Partner, RegFin Legal, said,

“Our new and larger office in GIFT City marks an important milestone in RegFin Legal’s growth journey and reflects our long-term commitment to India’s International Financial Services Centre. As GIFT City rapidly evolves into a globally significant financial and regulatory hub, this expansion gives our growing team the scale, infrastructure and capacity to deepen our capabilities and serve an increasingly sophisticated and global client base from within the ecosystem.

As an early believer in GIFT City’s potential, we have had the privilege of participating in its evolution from an emerging financial centre into an increasingly important gateway for cross-border financial services. As we continue to build RegFin Legal into a leading national platform, our new office, with the capacity to house a significantly larger team, strengthens our ability to support a growing spectrum of funds, financial institutions, asset managers and businesses, while fostering greater collaboration across our practices and offices. We remain deeply committed to GIFT City’s continued growth and are excited to further build and scale our global practice from this strategically important financial jurisdiction.”

Twinkle Dhamecha, Senior Partner and Head of GIFT City Office, RegFin Legal, commented,

“GIFT City has emerged as a transformative platform for global capital flows, enabling international fund managers to access India’s growth opportunities while providing Indian managers and investors with a gateway to global markets. Today, it stands as a powerful symbol of India’s financial ambitions and an important pillar of the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

In a relatively short period, GIFT City has evolved from a policy concept into a credible international financial centre, fostering innovation across fund management, private capital and cross-border finance. At RegFin Legal, we are proud to support this vision by helping clients build investment structures that contribute to the continued growth of the GIFT City ecosystem.”
