4 Retained Partners+team of 12 to move with Akshay Chudasama for Shardul Amarchand

Not only is JSA’s Akshay Chudasama moving to Shardul Amarchand, as we reported first, but he is taking around 16 other JSA lawyers with him. This includes four salaried Partners – Ashoo Gupta, Ashni Roy, Gaurav Singhi and Mithun Thanks along with a team of about 12 lawyers.

Gupta, Roy, Singhi and Thanks would be joining SAM & Co as salaried partners and the entire team would move out around May 31.

JSA Managing Partner Berjis Desai confirmed these departures and said, “Barring one Senior Associate, we have retained one Salaried Partner and a Senior Associate, whom we wanted to retain”.

The Salaried Partner in question is Jamshedji Bhumgara while the Senior Associate being referred to is Manav Raheja from Chudasama’s team

Ashoo Gupta specializes in Corporate Commercial and Real Estate laws.

Ashni Roy’s practice includes Corporate Commercial law. Practicing since 2006, she worked with AZB & Partners, Mumbai for over 5 years.

Mithun Thanks focuses on General Corporate Commercial, Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity and Regulatory & Policy. He joined JSA in 2009 prior to which he was working at Herbert Smith and before that at Luthra & Luthra.

Gaurav Singhi too focuses on M&A and Private Equity. He joined JSA last year from Wadia Ghandy, and previously worked at Trilegal, and Phoenix Legal.
