Policeman dies by suicide at Delhi High Court

The constable from the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary was deployed at Delhi High Court and is reported to have shot himself with his service weapon.

A police constable on Wednesday reportedly died by suicide at the Delhi High Court.

According to sources, he died while on duty at the High Court.

The constable, identified as a member of the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC).

"This is unfortunate that this happened within the four walls of the Court premises... We don't know the exact reason. He must be 30-32 years old. The incident happened near Gate 3," the source said.

The crime team, the Deputy Commissioner of Police and the Assistant Commissioner of Police have reached the spot where the incident occurred.

Investigations will be carried out into all possible angles of the case, it is learnt.

On September 24, three people including alleged gangster Jitender Gogi were reportedly killed inside a courtroom at the Delhi's Rohini Court Complex premises.

Subsequently, on September 28, the Delhi High Court had issued notice in a petition filed in the wake of the firing, seeking measures to ensure safety and security at the district courts of Delhi.

A decision on the same is likely to be taken "very soon".
