[Exclusive]:CAM strikes back, poaches AZB Corporate Partner Rishi Gautam

AZB & Partners Corporate Partner Rishi Gautam has resigned from the firm and will be joining Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, according to authoritative sources.

After Zia Mody hired several of Cyril Shroff’s partners last year, this year Cyril Shroff, has poached Gautam to join his corporate team in Mumbai.

Update: Confirming Gautam’s resignation, AZB Managing Partner Zia Mody, said,

“Rishi will be moving on from AZB. We wish him all the very best going forward.”

Cyril Shroff was not available for comment at the time of publishing the story.

Rishi Gautam

A graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore, Gautam started his career with the erstwhile Amarchand Mangaldas in 2001. In 2006, he left the firm to join the Sydney office of Freehills.

In 2008, he moved to London to join Clifford Chance. He worked there for about four years, after which he joined a subsidiary of Amazon. In 2015, he joined AZB & Partners.
