Breaking: Collegium reiterates transfer of Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan to Calcutta High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium has reiterated its recommendation to transfer Telangana High Court Chief Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan to Calcutta High Court.

The Collegium, by its resolution of January 10, 2019, had proposed to transfer Justice Radhakrishnan to Calcutta High Court in the interest of better administration of justice.

The above proposal which was sent to the Central government was referred back to the Chief Justice of India for reconsideration.

The Collegium has now decided to reiterate its proposal stating that nothing new has been brought to its notice. The resolution reads:

“While making aforesaid recommendation dated 10th January, 2019, the Collegium has already considered all aspects pointed out by the Government for seeking reconsideration thereof. Nothing new has been brought to our notice.”

The Collegium has, therefore, chosen to reiterate its recommendation to transfer Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan as Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court.
