The third edition of the Delhi Arbitration Weekend (DAW), jointly organized by the Delhi High Court and the Delhi International Arbitration Centre will be held from September 15-21, 2025. The event is designed to promote dialogue on international arbitration practices.
The inauguration session will take place at Auditorium, Additional Building Complex, Supreme Court of India.
Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai, and Supreme Court judge, Justice Surya Kant, Delhi High Court Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, and Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru will be in attendance.
The session will begin with a welcome address by Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya.
The keynote address will be delivered by Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia, Stephen Gageler AC.
The inaugural session will conclude with a plenary address by CJI BR Gavai.
DAW 2025 will officially commence on September 15, with an opening session titled, 'Role of Institutional Arbitration Amidst Bolstering Economic Relations Between India and the CEE Region.'
The session will be chaired by Supreme Court Judge, Justice N Kotiswar Singh.
Former Delhi High Court judge and Senior Advocate Rajiv Shakdher; Commercial Counsellor, Austrian Embassy, Commercial Section, Hans-Jörg Hörtnagl; Secretary General of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC) Niamh Leinwather; and VIAC’s Ambassador for India, Arush Khanna will speak during this session.
The weekend will feature discussions, and panels focused on arbitration developments and cross-border collaboration.
