As Delhi prepares for protests against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, the Delhi High Court has said that the city’s Patiala House Court and Rouse Avenue Court will function entirely through virtual mode tomorrow (October 10).

In a notification issued today, the High Court said that all district courts across Delhi will remain open and functional on Saturday.

However, it said that all civil and criminal cases at the Patiala House and Rouse Avenue court complexes will be heard virtually. Further, the notification said that judicial officers posted at these two complexes who are unable to reach their respective courts may also hold proceedings through virtual mode.

The High Court further directed that no adverse orders shall be passed in any case across Delhi's district courts due to the non-appearance of litigants, advocates, witnesses or accused persons.

“In all the District Courts across Delhi, all under trial prisoners shall be produced through virtual mode only,” the notification added.
