Delhi High Court gets Four more Judges [Read Notification]

Bar & Bench

The Central Government has green-lighted the appointment of four new judges to the Delhi High Court.

The President has signed off on the names of advocates Jyoti Singh, Prateek Jalan, Anup Jairam Bhambhani and Sanjeev Narula as Judges.

All four names had been recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium last month, along with the name of a fifth advocate, Manoj Kumar Ohri. However, the Central Government has rejected the proposed elevation of advocate Ohri.

With the addition of four more judges, the Delhi High Court will now have a working strength of 42 judges as against its sanctioned strength of 60 judges (45 permanent judges and 15 additional judges).
