Former bureaucrat Ashish Joshi has approached Delhi's Patiala House Court seeking a copy of the first information report (FIR) registered against him by the Delhi Police.
The case is likely to be taken up for hearing by Judge Mridul Gupta on Tuesday.
Joshi was questioned for nearly nine hours by the Delhi Police Special Cell on September 2 in connection with a case registered against him over his social media activity.
Joshi is a retired 1992-batch Indian Posts and Telecommunications Accounts and Finance Service officer who retired as an Additional Secretary-rank official in March 2026.
He was allegedly picked up while on a morning walk and taken to the Counter Intelligence unit’s office in New Friends Colony. Police said he was questioned in connection with an FIR registered two days earlier and was released after his statement was recorded.
The plea by Joshi has been filed through advocates Aadil Singh Boparai, Ronit Bose and Nikunj Bindal.
