Exclusive: Khaitan & Co’s Abhay Sharma moving to Shardul Amarchand

Khaitan & Co Mumbai Associate Partner Abhay Sharma has resigned and is joining Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.

Abhay joined Khaitan in 2013 from Nishith Desai Associates and was part of the tax team at the firm. He was made Associate Partner this year.

Confirming Abhay’s move, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas Managing Partner Akshay Chudasama commented,

“He brings with him wealth of experience and we are happy to have him on board and he will complement our existing  transaction practice.”

A graduate of NLIU Bhopal, Abhay started his career with Nishith Desai after which he joined Dua Associates and later moved to BMR Advisors in 2006. In 2010, he left BMR to rejoin Nishith Desai Associates.

With Abhay moving to SAM & Co, Shardul Amarchand’s firm will have 15 Partners including four from Khaitan & Co, and six from JSA.
