Former BankBazaar General Counsel Parag Mathur joins PhonePe

Parag Mathur has joined PhonePe as its General Counsel. Prior to that, Mathur worked at BankBazaar for over four years as General Counsel and Head of Compliance.

Mathur, who is a law graduate from Meerut University, is also a Fellow Member (FCS) of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and has experience of over 21 years in Legal, Regulatory and Compliance.

Phone Pe is a Bangalore based company which was acquired by Flipkart in 2016

Before joining BankBazaar, Mathur worked with companies like Modi Xerox, Polar Software, Bharti Airtel, and ING Life (Exide Life Insurance).

Mathur has also been engaging with the NITI Aayog and the financial regulators for enabling regulations for Digital onboarding/KYC. He has also worked extensively on Aadhaar OTP based onboarding regulations in 2016 and mobile-based video KYC regulations for the disbursal of financial products.
