Israel Embassy Blast Case: Delhi Court remands four Kargil students to 10-day police custody

The students were allegedly involved in the blast that occurred on January 29 this year near the Israel Embassy in New Delhi.

A Delhi Court has remanded four students arrested from the town of Kargil in the Union Territory of Ladakh to 10 days of police custody in connection with their alleged involvement in the Israel Embassy Blast Case.

Subsequent to the arrest, the Delhi Police team got the transit remand to bring the four arrested persons to Delhi. According to the Delhi Police, the arrest was made under a separate FIR

The four students are Nazir Hussain aged 26, Zulfikar Ali Wazir aged 25, Aiaz Hussain aged 28, and Muzammil Hussain aged 25.

The investigation in the case is being spearheaded by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). In addition to this, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police has also registered a separate case for criminal conspiracy against the students.

The Delhi Police PRO's office issued the following official statement:

“They were held in connection with a conspiracy to plan and execute terror activities in the national capital. We have taken them on transit remand and brought them to Delhi for questioning,”

According to ANI, five months after the blast, the NIA had released CCTV footage of two persons near the Embassy prior to the blast. A manhunt was launched by the NIA, which promised a reward of Rs 10,00,000 for anyone who provides any information in connection with the blast.
