Collegium reiterates recommendation to appoint 3 judicial officers as judges of Calcutta High Court

The Calcutta High Court has a sanctioned strength of 72 judges but it currently has only 36 judges as on November 1.

The Supreme Court collegium has reiterated its recommendation of the appointment of three judicial officers as judges of the Calcutta High Court.

The decision to this effect was taken in a Collegium meeting held on November 11.

The judicial officers recommended are Ananya Bandyopadhyay, Rai Chattopadhyay and Subhendu Samanta.

The Calcutta High Court has a sanctioned strength of 72 judges but it currently has only 36 judges as on November 1.
