The Delhi High Court on Wednesday rejected the plea filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) challenging the trial court order granting bail to former NSE managing director Chitra Ramkrishna in the alleged NSE phone tapping case.

Justice Madhu Jain passed the order.

The case relates to alleged illegal interceptions of phone calls of NSE employees between 2009 and 2017.

According to the CBI, Ramkrishna, along with former CEO Ravi Narain, Executive Vice-President Ravi Varanasi and Head (Premises) Mahesh Haldipur, allegedly engaged iSEC Services to intercept NSE employees' calls under the guise of conducting a periodic study of cyber vulnerabilities at the exchange.

The trial court granted Ramkrishna bail in December 2022, prompting the CBI to move the High Court.
