NUJS Professor Manoj Kumar Sinha appointed ILI Director

Professor Manoj Kumar Sinha has been appointed as the Director of the Indian Law Institute (ILI), Delhi. Sinha is currently serving as Professor of Law at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS).

Sinha told Bar & Bench that he will be joining ILI as a Director by mid-August. He declined to comment further.

Sinha did his LLB from University of Delhi in 2002 and LLM from University of Nottingham, UK in 1998. Prior to joining NUJS, Sinha was the Director of Indian Society of International Law from May 2006 to March 2009.

Before that he was Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator for PG Diploma in Human Rights, International Humanitarian and Refugee Laws, Indian Society of International Law in Delhi.

Speaking to Bar & Bench, ILI Registrar Dalip Kumar confirmed that the Chief Justice of India, who is the President of ILI has approved the appointment of Sinha on the recommendation of the Search Committee. The Registrar declined to give the names of the members of the Search Committee.
