Officially censored? CAM lawyers unable to access Bar & Bench [Update]

Anuj Agrawal

Lawyers at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas are currently unable to access a number of websites including Bar & Bench. This site appears to have been blocked from the law firm’s servers in at least two cities.  It is of course entirely possible that this is a technical error of some sort and will be resolved soon.

We have reached out to Cyril Amarchand for comments.

The move, or inadvertent error, comes at a time when there has been significant talk about lateral moves in the Indian legal industry. For instance rainmaker Ashwath Rau has moved out of the firm; it is unclear whether any of his team members will follow suit.

And with the impending end of the “non-poach” agreement between SAM and CAM, the number of lateral shifts is bound to increase.

Update on 20 April 2016: Lawyers at the Bangalore and Mumbai offices of the firm have confirmed that Bar & Bench is no longer blocked.
