Plea in Supreme Court seeks cancellation of NEET UG 2021, fresh exam

The plea which prayed for a stay on declaration of NEET UG 2021 results, cited alleged instances of cheating, malpractices, impersonation and paper leak.

A plea has been filed before the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test undergraduate exam (NEET UG) held on September 12, 2021, citing alleged instances of cheating, malpractices, impersonation and paper leak (Vishwanath Kumar vs NTA).

The plea filed by thirteen NEET aspirants sought directions to call for a fact finding report from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the States of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh regarding the alleged malpractices in NEET UG 2021.

The petitioner also prayed that a fresh exam be held.

The plea filed through advocate Mamta Sharma said that even if when students benefits illegally, it would amount to grave injustice.

The petitioner prayed for a "RENEET" submitting that standard security protocols and biometric authentication of students should be improved.

The plea also sought a stay on the declaration of results for NEET UG 2021 till the current plea is disposed of.
