Pradeep Rai elected new Supreme Court Bar Association president

He defeated nearest rival Senior Advocate Anupam Lal Das.

Senior Advocate Pradeep Rai was on Tuesday elected the new president of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).

He defeated nearest rival Senior Advocate Anupam Lal Das by 371 votes. The final tally of votes for presidential candidates is as follows:

Adish Agarwalla - 412

Gaurav Bhatia - 370

Anupam Lal Das - 451

Pradeep Rai - 822

Sukumar Pattjoshi- 269

Mahalakshmi Pavani -128

Siddharth Mridul - 217

Senior Advocate Rahul Kaushik was elected the Vice President of SCBA.

Meanwhile advocate Pragya Baghel won the race for the post of secretary, defeating advocates Savita Singh and Rajeshree Reddy.

The final tally of votes for the secretary post is as follows:

Pragya Baghel:1,454

Savita Singh: 637

Rajashree Reddy: 593
