Dean of Law Faculty at Aligarh Muslim University, Prof Shakeel Samdani succumbs to Covid-19

Samdani was an alumnus of the AMU and later served as a Professor in the Department of Law of the University for 12 years before being appointed Dean of the Law Department.

Dean, Faculty of Law at Aligarh Muslim University, Professor Shakeel Samdani passed away on Saturday from COVID-19.

Prof. Samdani served as a professor at the University for 12 years before being appointed as the Dean of Law Department.

He has published two books entitled 'Uniform Civil Code: Problems And Prospects' and 'Maintenance of The Muslim Divorcee'.

He used to teach Islamic Jurisprudence, Muslim Law, Public International Law and Human Rights Law.

Samdani has also received the Herz Dr. Gerhard Glinzerer Award for his social service. He had a keen interest in public speaking and used to organize the Sir Syed Awareness forum annually.
