Rishab Gupta, Dipen Sabharwal, Manish Aggarwal feature in Global Arbitration Review '45 under 45' list

Rishab Gupta becomes first and only India-based practitioner to feature in Global Arbitration Review '45 under 45' list

Bar & Bench

Indian lawyer Rishab Gupta has featured in the '45 under 45' list by Global Arbitration Review (GAR).

This is the third edition of the list by GAR; the other two were published in 2006 and 2011. Notably, Rishab is the first India-based practitioner on the list.

The edition also features two practitioners of Indian origin who are based in the United Kingdom - Dipen Sabharwal and Manish Aggarwal.

Sabharwal is a Partner at White & Case and also serves as Country Practice Head of India country practice group. Aggarwal is a Partner in London Office of Three Crowns.

Gupta is an independent counsel based in Mumbai and a barrister and full member of Twenty Essex.

Before transitioning to independent practice, he served as an equity partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, where he led the firm's arbitration practice in Mumbai. Before that, Gupta worked for several years at international law firms including Allen & Overy in London and Debevoise & Plimpton in New York.

For curating the list, GAR invites applications from practitioners around the world and reaches out to established market leaders to recommend younger practitioners.

It then shortlists about 200 practitioners based on the references provided and on the basis of its market knowledge about the practitioners’ work.

GAR’s referees, its editorial board and other ranked practitioners are then asked to vote on the shortlisted candidates. The top 45 spots are featured in the 45 under 45 list.
