Visibly upset at the prayer, Justice Nariman asked the petitioner’s counsel to read the prayer out loud.

He then asked the petitioner’s counsel,

“Do you seriously want to argue this? We will hear you but we will pass strictures against you.”

The lawyer replied in the negative, whereupon the Court proceeded to dismiss the petition.
