Jindal Global Law School appoints 12 Corporate Law Firm Partners as Honorary Adjunct Professors

Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) of the OP Jindal Global University has appointed twelve Partners of leading corporate law firms as Honorary Adjunct Professors of Law and Professors of Corporate Legal Practice..The 12 Honorary Adjunct Professors will be associated with the, ‘Corporate Lawyering Advancement through Immersion & Mentoring’ (CLAIM) Programme at JGLS. .The Partners roped in for the programme are Alina Arora (Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas), Vanita Bhargava (Khaitan & Co), Mohit Gogia (S&R Associates), Gowree Gokhale (Nishith Desai Associates), Tejas Karia (Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas), V Lakshmikumaran (Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan Associates), Chandrima Mitra (DSK Legal), Siddharth Nair (Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas), Gautam Narasimhan (Allen & Overy, Singapore), Suhail Nathani (Economic Laws Practice), Prakash Raja Segaran (Allen & Overy, Singapore) and Sanjeev Sharma (L&L Partners)..V Lakshmikumaran and Suhail Nathani have been appointed as Honorary Adjunct Professors and Distinguished Professors of Corporate Legal Practice in recognition of their "contribution to institution building by founding two leading corporate law firms", informs the press release issued by Jindal University..The Programme has been introduced with the aim of connecting theory to practice, addressing the issue of “disconnect” that many new entrants to the legal profession face.."... the CLAIM Programme creates the opportunity for students to apply their knowledge real-time, thereby enhancing their ingenuity and heuristic skills that are much needed in professional legal practice."JGLS Press Release.Speaking about the Programme, Jindal's Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr C Rajkumar says:."The larger purpose of this effort is to instill in the minds of law students an imagination to become part of corporate legal practice and better equip them with knowledge, skills and perspectives to take up successful careers in law firms and corporations in the future. These courses will span over a period of 8 weeks starting from September 5, 2020 (National Teachers’ Day). .The courses will be open to the IIIrd, IVth and Vth year students of the BA LL.B (Hons) and BBA LL.B (Hons) courses, the students of IInd and IIIrd year of LL.B courses and LL.M students.
