

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has partnered with Meta for the setup of an artificial intelligence (AI) data centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
Khaitan & Co advised Reliance Industries on the transaction. The Firm advised on all legal aspects of the transaction, including structuring, preparation and negotiation of project and commercial documentation, regulatory and compliance matters, and transaction execution support.

Pursuant to the partnership, RIL will develop a built-to-suit 168 MW hyperscale data centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat, which Meta will lease to support its artificial intelligence and computing requirements. RIL will provide end-to-end services for the facility, including design, construction, utility management, renewable power supply, network connectivity, and managed services.
The transaction comes amid rising demand for large-scale data centre infrastructure, driven by artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital services.
Moneycontrol had reported that Reliance Industries shares gained over 2 per cent after the announcement of the Meta partnership for the AI data centre in Gujarat.
