LKS advises Toyota on acquisition of car dealership from Ravindu Motors

The Toyota group has acquired the car dealership business from Ravindu Motors Private Limited through a business transfer arrangement.

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys advised and represented the Toyota group on this acquisition. The Firm provided end-to-end legal and transactional support to Toyota including structuring, drafting and negotiations of transaction documents, and deal closing.

The transaction team consisted of Srabonee Roy (Partner), Debanik Bid (Principal Associate), and Associates Sushmita Sharma, Mathanki N, and Atrijo Banerjee from the Corporate and M&A team, and Neelambera Sandeepan (Partner) and Charms Mathews (Senior Associate) from the Competition & Antitrust team.

Following the transaction, the dealership operates under the brand name “Bharat Toyota” and has paved way for Toyota in the dealership market in Karnataka providing comprehensive market coverage and strong customer base.
