Soon after he retired as Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court in 2019, Justice Rajendra Menon was appointed as Chairperson of the Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT).

Before his stint at the Delhi High Court, Justice Menon also served as Chief Justice of the Patna High Court and a judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

In this interview, Justice Menon speaks about his journey from being a clerk to Chief Justice of two High Courts, the public's perception of the judiciary, his tenure as AFT Chairperson, and more.

Justice Menon also touches upon the topic of transparency in judicial appointments and transfers. While he expresses full faith in the Collegium's reasons for transferring and elevating judges, he calls for appointments to be made in a more transparent manner.

The former Chief Justice also has kind words for his ex-colleague at the Delhi High Court, Justice Muralidhar, whose transfer to the Punjab & Haryana High Court earlier this year sparked a furore.
