2G spectrum cases allocated to CBI Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar

After the retirement of Special CBI Judge OP Saini later this month, all the cases arising out of the 2G spectrum scam including the Aircel Maxis case shall be dealt by Special CBI Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar..The Order passed by the Delhi High Court reads,.“Hon’ble the Chief Justice and Hon’ble Judges of this Court have been pleased to order that cases pertaining to 2G Spectrum scam pending in the Court of Mr. O.P.Saini, District & Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge (PC Act)(CBl), RACC, New Delhi be transferred and allocated to the Court of Special Judge (PC Act) (CBI)-09, RACC, New Delhi presently presided over by Mr. A.K.Kuhar w.e.f. 0 1.10.2019 which shall be the designated Court to undertake the trial of the said 2G Spectrum Cases in addition to the matters already pending before the Court of Mr. A.K. Kuhar.”.The Court of Judge Kuhar also presides over criminal cases against sitting MPs and MLAs, which include the Sunanda Pushkar case against Shahi Tharoor and the INX Media case against P Chidambaram and Karti Chidambaram..In December 2017, Judge OP Saini had acquitted former Telecom Minister A Raja and several others in the 2G Scam case. Earlier that year, Judge Saini had also discharged former Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran in the Aircel Maxis case..In July 2018, the Central Bureau of Investigation filed a supplementary charge sheet in the Aircel Maxis case, naming P Chidambaram and Karti Chidambaram as accused..The father-son duo was granted anticipatory bail in the case by Judge OP Saini on September 5..The Aircel Maxis case was adjourned sine die on the next day..Read Notification:
