The Congress party's West Bengal unit has approached the Supreme Court challenging the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls ordered by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in the State..The matter was mentioned by the counsel for the petitioner before Justice Surya Kant who is hearing the Bihar SIR case. He sought listing of the matter on Tuesday along with Bihar SIR case."The Bihar matter is listed tomorrow. We want the matter listed tomorrow with the Bihar SIR case," the counsel said.He also claimed that people are approaching the party citing lapses in the process and that has prompted the party to move the top court."It is upto the CJI to decide whether the WB matter will also come before us," the Bench said.The counsel then pointed out that other similar matters concerning SIR are also coming up tomorrow along with Bihar SIR matter.The Bench then agreed to list the matter on Tuesday along with Bihar SIR case..The ECI had first directed a Special Intensive Revision in June 2025.
