Amarchand Partner Suhaan Mukerji steps down to focus on his work as Expert Advisor, Office of Advisor to the PM on PIII

Suhaan Mukerji, Partner Policy & Government Affairs at Amarchand Mangaldas, is Expert Advisor, Office of Advisor to the Prime Minister of India on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations (PIII).

Suhaan confirmed to Bar & Bench that he has stepped down from his current position as a Partner at Amarchand Mangaldas to focus on his work as Expert Advisor, Office of Advisor to the Prime Minister of India on P-III, Sam Pitroda.

Suhaan had joined Amarchand in 2002 prior to which he was an Analyst with the World Bank. At Amarchand, he initially worked in the firm’s Mumbai office in the corporate M&A and capital markets team before moving to the Delhi office. He was made a Partner in 2009.

Suhaan, a graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore completed his Masters in Law from the London School of Economics. At Amarchand, he used to lead the Policy and Government Affairs practice group at the firm. He has extensive experience in policy formulation, drafting and monitoring of legislative agendas for clients and served on a number of government committees.

He has advised clients (including the Central and the State Governments) on corporate affairs and public policy objectives strategy in India, primarily involving sectors of Defence, Nuclear Power and Information and Communications Technology.

Suhaan has been actively engaged in counseling government ministries and departments both at the Federal and State level and has drafted legislations for numerous government agencies, according to LexMundi where he was Regional Vice-Chair for Lex Mundi’s Government Affairs Practice Group.

Suhaan also led the pro-bono practice at Amarchand Mangaldas.
