The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday halted its court proceedings till lunch after a bomb threat was received..The High Court Registrar General said that police personnel and Bomb Disposal Squads from Chandigarh Police were deployed for checking the court premises. The courts are likely to resume functioning at 2 PM."As requested by the President, Punjab & Haryana High Court Bar Association, the lawyers are free to join the proceedings through the virtual mode," a notice issued by the Registrar General states.It adds that no adverse order would be passed in case any lawyer is unable to attend the court, physically or virtually. .Meanwhile, the Bar Association also requested all members of the legal fraternity to leave the courtroom immediately as a safety precaution"It is for the information of all the Hon’ble members of the Bar that an alert regarding a bomb threat at the Hon’ble High Court has been received," High Court Bar Association Secretary Gagandeep Jammu said in a notice..All members have been asked to remain vigilant.
