Bombay High Court orders probe into alleged forgery of court orders

The Bombay High Court has ordered a police and cyber cell inquiry into allegations that forged or fabricated court orders were circulated in connection with a family dispute between members of the Jindal family [Rekha Parmanand Jindal v. Shylender Jindal & Ors.]..Justice Arif S Doctor observed that the issue involved extremely serious and grave allegations, while ordering that an investigation be carried out before the court proceeds further. .The allegation was raised in an interim application filed by Shylender Jindal by which he urged the Court to recall some orders passed on January 24 and February 7, 2025. He argued that he had not been heard before those orders were made. Jindal alleged that the one Purvi Shah and his former advocate had forged or fabricated the court orders and sent those versions to him instead of the actual orders. Shah, who appeared in person, denied the allegation and said the fabrication had been done by Jindal, while his counsel said he was willing to face an inquiry.Justice Doctor said the central question was how the disputed orders came into existence and at whose instance.“In my view, before proceeding further in the matter, the issue of how and at whose instance the orders have come into existence is crucial and must be investigated into,” the judge said. .The Court, therefore, directed the Registrar General to lodge a complaint with the competent police authorities and the cyber cell, so that they may take steps to carry out an inquiry into the circumstances in which the disputed documents were created. The Court has also asked the investigating authorities to place an inquiry report before it."Let a report be placed before this Court in four weeks," the June 18 order said..The judge clarified that the court had not examined the merits of the accusations made by either side.
