The potentially explosive litigation between Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and former Chennai partner Dorothy Thomas has been put to rest in the Bombay High Court.

The settlement terms have been filed before Justice Kathawala with Senior Counsel Soli Cooper appearing for Thomas and Zal Andhyarujina appearing for Cyril Shroff.

Present in Court were LV Vishwanathan and Dorothy Thomas. Animosity, if any, between the two was barely perceptible.

Commenting on the settlement Thomas said that it had been an amicable one. She said that she would now be focusing on the Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas Chennai office which now has three partners and roughly eighteen lawyers.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas had filed a Section 9 petition in the Bombay High Court against Dorothy Thomas, who has now joined Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.

Not only did the Petiton make a number of allegations against Thomas, including the extraction of confidential files, but reproduced Whatsapp records of groups allegedly made by a “senior leader of a rival firm”.

Read the three versionsthe petition filed by Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Dorothy’s email to Cyril Shroff and the Statement given by Shardul Shroff.
