The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2020) has been postponed yet again in light of the extended COVID-19 lockdown.
The last date for online applications has now been extended to July 1.
President of the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) and Vice-Chancellor of National Law Institute University (NLIU) Bhopal Prof V Vijayakumar confirmed the development to Bar & Bench. He revealed that the fresh date for CLAT 2020 would be decided on July 1.
As per the notification, candidates will be given at least 21 days' notice prior to the exam. This means that the exam will tentatively take place at the end of July.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the NLU Consortium held today. There will be more clarity as regards the date of CLAT 2020 after the Consortium's next meeting, scheduled to take place on July 1.
CLAT 2020 was earlier scheduled to be held on June 21. The exam, conducted for entry into NLUs across the country, was initially postponed to May 24. It was originally slated to take place on May 10.
