Breaking: Delhi High Court clears 85 names for Senior Advocate designation

The Delhi High Court on Thursday cleared the proposal to designate 85 lawyers as Senior Advocates.

The decision was taken at a full court meeting held this evening.

According to sources, 86 names were placed before the judges. Out of these, 85 names have been cleared for the senior designation. Eleven of these are women.

The names were placed before the full court after being cleared by the Committee for Designation of Senior Advocates.

The Committee consists of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, Justices V Kameswar Rao, Nitin Wasudeo Sambre, Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) President N Hariharan, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Chetan Sharma and Senior Advocate Sanjay Jain.

The list of 85, who have been conferred the gown, will be out shortly.
