The Central government on Monday cleared the appointment of advocate Shamima Jahan as an additional judge of the Gauhati High Court. .Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal shared the development on X. Jahan's name was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on January 4, 2025. Notably, In the same resolution, the Collegium had recommended the name of judicial officer Yarenjungla Longkumer.
