The Central government on Wednesday notified the transfers two Delhi High Court judges which were earlier recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium..The judges who have been transferred are -Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva to Madhya Pradesh High Court;Justice V Kameswar Rao to Karnataka High Court..The Supreme Court Collegium on March 13 had recommended the transfer after the judges themselves requested for the same..With regard to Justice Rao, the Collegium resolution stated:"By a communication dated 4 March 2024, Mr Justice V Kameswar Rao, Judge, High Court of Delhi, has requested for transfer to any other High Court. Acceding to his request, the Collegium resolves to recommend that Mr Justice V Kameswar Rao be transferred, in the interest of better administration of justice, to the High Court of Karnataka."As regards Justice Sachdeva, it stated:"By a communication dated 3 March 2024, Mr Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Judge, High Court of Delhi, has expressed willingness to be transferred to any Court. Acceding to his request, the Collegium resolves to recommend that Mr Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva be transferred, in the interest of better administration of justice, to the High Court of Madhya Pradesh.".[Read Notification]
