Central government notifies appointment of 7 new Rajasthan High Court judges

Six lawyers and one judicial officer have been made High Court judges.

The Central government on Tuesday notified the appointment of six lawyers and a judicial officer as judges of the Rajasthan High Court.

Advocate Sandeep Taneja has been appointed as a permanent judge. Advocates Baljinder Singh Sandhu, Bipin Gupta, Sanjeet Purohit, Ravi Chirania and Anuroop Singhi have been appointed as additional judges.

Judicial officer Sangeeta Sharma has also been made an additional judge.

Taneja and Sandhu's names were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on March 5 this year. Gupta, Purohit and Chirania were recommended for the job on May 29.

The Collegium recommended the names of Singhi and Sharma on July 2.

As of July 1, 2025, the Rajasthan High Court has been functioning with 37 judges against a sanctioned strength of 50, a vacancy of 26%.
