Centre appoints Advocate Amit Lahoti as Madhya Pradesh High Court judge

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended his appointment in early June.

The Central government has cleared the appointment of appointment of Advocate Amit Lahoti as an additional judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

The announcement was made by Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended Lahoti as a judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court after a meeting held on June 2.

The current working strength of the High Court is 40 judges against a sanctioned strength of 53.
