Centre notifies appointment of Orissa HC Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo as Patna High Court Chief Justice

The Central government on Thursday cleared the appointment of Orissa High Court Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium had made the recommendation to appoint Justice Sahoo at a meeting held on December 18, 2025, where it proposed the elevation of five High Court judges as Chief Justices of different High Courts across the country.

Justice Sahoo was born on June 5, 1964.

He received LL.B. from Cuttack Law College and enrolled as an advocate in 1989 with the Orissa State Bar Council, Cuttack.

He was elevated as a judge of the Orissa High Court on July 2, 2014.
