Speedy trial provisions under new criminal codes would not be of use if courts lack resources: CJI DY Chandrachud

The CJI called the three-year deadline for criminal trials "a breath of fresh air" while SG Tushar Mehta said that the provision for staggered custody of an accused was anti-criminal, not anti-people.
