The petition moved by the party stated that it applied to ECI in May 2025 to register the party name and also provided nine alternate names. Though an acknowledgement letter was sent to the petitioner, the ECI neither approved its name nor registered it as a political party, the Court was told.

It was submitted that the allotment of common symbol for Tamil Nadu State Assembly elections commenced on November 11.

In response, the ECI said that that the party submitted the requisite documents only on October 9. Further, the ECI said that it was awaiting the response of the District Election Officer in Tamil Nadu.

"As soon as the said response is received, a 30 days public notice will be issued by the petitioner calling for objections to the registration," the Court was told.

Considering the submissions, the Court disposed of the plea with a direction for decision within eight weeks.
